Ruby, a member of the Ahtahakakoop Cree Nation (Treaty 6 Territory) in north-central Saskatchewan, attained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2006 majoring in Human Resource Management. She also holds a Professional Administrative Certificate of Excellence (PACE), an internationally recognized designation offered through the American Society of Administrative Professionals (ASAP) of which she is a member. Ruby is also Certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist (CMOS).
Her entire working career has been centered on working for First Nations organizations – Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN), the First Nations University of Canada (FNUC) and currently is the Secretary for the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) Board of Directors. Her twenty-three plus years’ experience in an administrative support role has brought many opportunities to lead and mentor those who are eager to provide support to C-Suite executives.
A passion for encouraging and inspiring others, especially young people, Ms. Williams also sits on the Ahtahkakoop Post Secondary Board of Directors for her 2nd year. Ruby, along with the EA to the President & CEO, lead their own internal Professional Administrative Group as mentors and trainers. The group was developed to also provide a means of networking and assisting not only each other, but to “on-board” new admins throughout the organization. Outside the office, Ruby is active in church activities, enjoys travelling with her husband of 31 years, doting on her 2 children / 4 grandchildren and is currently writing a biography.
