Levitt Sheikh LLP

Patricia North specializes in health law, advising physicians, hospitals and other healthcare practitioners and industry corporations on a wide range of matters relating to the delivery of healthcare and management of healthcare resources. Patricia assists healthcare professionals and organizations by providing advice, opinions and representation with respect to regulatory, administrative and civil matters.

Patricia understands healthcare from the inside out. As a chief legal officer of two of Ontario’s largest hospitals, as well as an ambulatory hospital, her years of experience in hospital administration means that she has the uncommon advantage of a thorough understanding of the system, and the management of care providers and care delivery, particularly in hospital and academic environments. As a true healthcare insider, Patricia understands the nuances of how disputes arise and how to manage them in a manner which proactively protects her client’s best interests.

Prior to her hospital practice, Patricia worked at a large Bay Street law firm representing health industry clients; at an international law firm in Paris, France; and for the Ontario Medical Association. Patricia holds a Master’s degree in law specializing in Alternative Dispute Resolution.

In 2020, Patricia was awarded the Sovereign’s Medal by the Governor General of Canada for her volunteer service, including her work on the Ontario and National Boards of the Canadian Cancer Society.
