Kristen Winter was recently appointed to the position of Vice President Human Resources and Organizational Development an Leadership at Sunnybrook Hospital. Formerly, the Chief Human Resources Officer at Women’s College Hospital, she was a member of the Senior Executive Team and a trusted advisor to the Board of Directors and President and CEO. In her role at Women’s College, she was responsible for Volunteers, Occupational Health and Safety and Infection Prevention and Control. At Sunnybrook, she will provide leadership for Human Resources, Organizational Development and Leadership, Occupational Health and Safety and Volunteer Resources.
Kristen is an accomplished HR leader who has a strong track record of success. In 2017, she was named as one of Canada’s Top 25 HR Professionals. Prior to her work at Women’s College Hospital, Kristen was in HR at Michael Garron Hospital, where she led the organization to become recognized as a leader in Workplace Mental Health. She established a hospital-wide wellness plan and helped to create a culture of community among the staff, physicians, students, and volunteers.
She has a wealth of public and private experience, having been an integral component to the HR programs at Toronto Hydro, Citibank Canada, and Shopper’s Drug Mart.
She has her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Communication from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Post-Grad diploma in Human Resource Management from Seneca College and her Certified Human Resources Executive Designation from the Human Resources Professional Association. She is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion.
