Minds Matter Magazine

Karen Young recently completed an undergraduate degree in psychology and health studies at the University of Toronto Scarborough in 2016. She was named a 3M National Student Fellow for her work in starting TEDxUTSC— U of T’s first campus-wide TEDx event (and the second at U of T) and Minds Matter Magazine — Canada’s first by-student for-student mental health magazine focused on interdisciplinary, intersectional, and intergenerational storytelling. Ever since graduating, Karen worked in team-based primary care in Ontario, advocated for youth-driven policy recommendations that led to the Ontario Health Minister investing an additional $172M into mental health over the next 10 years, and is passionate about peer-based/student-to-student mentorship.
