Karen Brook holds a Master of Population and Public Health and has been a Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-oppression Educator for approximately 10 years. Karen has worked with government, community and private organizations providing unconscious bias and Cultural Safety training. She has also facilitated learning seminars for Psychology, Education and Nursing graduands from the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary to assist them in developing Culturally Safe spaces in their practice. In October 2019, Karen was presented on First Steps to Cultural Safety at the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO) 2019 conference: Celebrating our Diversity.
