Justin Diggle is a trusted advisor, leader and advocate in Human Resources. He started his career as an Associate Lawyer and a Partner with a management labour and employment law boutique firm, and went on to serve as Counsel with one of the province’s largest Crown corporations. Justin most recently held the position of Senior Legal Counsel, Human Resources leader and Chief Collective Bargaining negotiator for one of Ontario’s largest municipalities where he was, amongst other things, responsible for bargaining with four Unions under 14 collective agreements and leading the Region’s employee and labour relations team.

Justin brings a practical business focus and human resources lens to the advice, advocacy and training he provides to his clients. With years of experience directly advising CEOs, executive officers, senior leaders, Boards, government officials and human resources colleagues, Justin not only advises on what is legally required and possible, but also what is best for the organization’s business interests, its reputation and its people.

Justin has deep experience in the public sector and the services it provides, including in the municipal and provincial sectors, health and long term care, EMS and broader public sector services. He has also advised numerous private sector employers, provincially and federally regulated; particularly those in the logistics, hospitality, retail, manufacturing and construction sectors.

As counsel and Human Resource leader, Justin has advised on all aspects of human resources, including restructuring and policy development, union management relations and collective bargaining, accessibility, accommodation and human rights, workplace investigations and workplace wellness and safety.

An experienced labour negotiator, Justin has developed strong and constructive relationships with his union colleagues, while still ensuring that his clients’ best interests are protected and advanced at the table. He is a respected advocate who has appeared before private arbitrators and the Grievance Settlement Board, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, Canada Labour Code Adjudicators and the courts.

Finally, Justin is dedicated to training and education, having designed and delivered seminars and programs for a number of clients and professional organizations, and having taught for 21 years at the university level.
