Registered Nurse

Dave Kelly is a registered nurse with 25 years of experience, with a past practice focused primarily at a Level I Trauma Center in Boston.

Dave left his job in 2010 due to a three-year opiate addiction which started in 2007. He then entered the Massachusetts Board of Nursing’s Substance Abuse Recovery Program (SARP).

Now on the other side of addiction and in recovery for 10 years, Dave has committed himself to raising awareness and education of the issue of substance use disorder as it applies to nurses and others in the healthcare field.

Dave now presents on Impaired Practice, providing training for such audiences as graduating nursing students, staff nurses from all disciplines and nurse directors/managers.
