Cynthia Russell has been a Registered Nurse for 15 years focussing on mental health, substance use and Indigenous mental health and wellness. Her role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist with the First Nations Health Authority focuses on improving mental health and wellness experiences and outcomes of First Nations community members. Through collaboration and consultation with healthcare partners she works to challenge and change health systems into culturally safe and trauma informed experiences for clients. She also commits to improving the mental healthcare experiences of First Nations members by promoting culturally safe nursing practice through support, influence and education with nurses.
