Angie Sarsons is currently the Director of Operations for the Shuswap Indian Band in Invermere, BC. Angie’s purpose is reflected in her Indigenous name “Wind that Helps Eagles Fly”. Her mission in life is to transmit knowledge in the area of lateral kindness and to assist organizations and communities to honor the core values of love, respect and open communication. Angie obtained her Masters in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University and is known for her expertise in facilitation and capacity development. As a Crown-ward from the ages of 5-16, Angie developed resiliency and a holistic ‘medicine bundle’ that has not only allowed her to transcend the odds stacked against her but to truly thrive and impact others in a positive way. She expresses a genuine passion for Indigenous cultures and world views and firmly believes that Indigenous wisdom such as the Medicine Wheel and the Seven Sacred Grandfather Teachings can heal the world.
