Natasha Savoline is a partner and an investigations practice lead with the firm.

Investigation Services
Natasha’s passion for fairness and creating positive and respectful workplaces informs her work as an experienced investigator. She applies a trauma-informed, anti-oppression approach and is skilled at investigating complex, multi-party and sensitive issues in union and non-unionized workplaces in areas such as:

  • harassment, mobbing and workplace violence
  • sexual and gender-based harassment, sexual assault, and sexual violence
  • discrimination and harassment based on race, colour, ancestry (and related grounds), sex, disability, creed/religion, gender identity and expression, among others, including investigations involving competing human rights
  • toxic/hostile work environments
  • code of conduct violations
  • resident and patient abuse

Industries and Organizations Served
Natasha has provided investigation services for school boards, universities and colleges, First Nations, municipalities and their councils, provincial crown corporations, police, fire and paramedic services, hospitals, long term care homes, resident care facilities, medical professional associations, airlines, professional associations, professional services firms, private organizations of all sizes, and not-for-profits. She also provides training to many of these organizations about how to conduct sound workplace investigations, including a certificate program specific to police services.

Restoration and Transformation Services
Natasha believes in building on what is working well in addition to understanding what needs to change to shift workplace culture and repair strained workplace relationships. To help organizations and their employees achieve these outcomes, Natasha provides workplace transformation services including:

  • sensitivity training
  • respect in the workplace/anti-harassment and discrimination training
  • psychological health and safety
  • mediation and conflict resolution
  • workplace culture assessments
  • municipal council training

Thought Leadership
In addition to conducting workplace investigations, Natasha:

  • provides one-on-one sensitivity training and workplace remediation services
  • facilitates the HRPA Workplace Investigations Training and Certificate Program
  • regularly speaks at the Osgoode Professional Development Advanced Certificate in Workplace Investigations and Certificate in Labour Law programs
  • is a frequent presenter at the HRPA Annual Conference and Chapter events
  • regularly speaks at the Ontario Municipal Human Resources Association (OMHRA) semi-annual conference

Natasha co-authored the Ontario Human Rights Code: Quick Reference, 2009, and the Human Resource Management textbook (2011). She has been published in the Toronto Star, The Lawyer’s Daily, Municipal World, and Ontario Municipal HR Association Echo.

Natasha is an avid traveler who recently ticked off a box on her bucket list with a safari in Kenya. She grew up with a member of a famous rock band; the grandson of a legendary Toronto Maple Leaf; and the cousin of the greatest NHL player ever. She also went to the same high school as a famous movie actor.
